We are pleased to offer the travel grants listed below. Each grant provides an award amount towards travel, and complimentary registration to the Plant and Animal Genome Conference. Some grants require the applicant to be traveling to the conference from outside the US, so please check the eligibility requirements carefully.

Awards will be presented at the Closing Banquet on Wednesday evening at the conference.

Instructions

Details and applications for each grant are below. There is one application that covers the Earl J. Scherago, Jerome P. Miksche, and Michael D. Gale Travel Grants - you do not need to fill out three separate forms. Please download the appropriate pdf, fill it out on screen, save, and email to the appropriate coordinator listed on the application. If the grant requires either a letter verifying the applicant's status as a graduate student or a letter of recommendation from their department or office, please be sure this letter is on official letterhead from your institution or organization and send as an email attachment, along with completed application. 

Alll grants also require that a poster abstract is officially submitted online, and more information and a link is available on the Poster Abstracts page.

  

Aquaculture Species Group Student and Postdoctoral Fellowship Bursaries

The Aquaculture Genomics Group of the NRSP-8 is pleased to announce the availability of a limited number of Travel Bursaries, of up to $1,000, to support the attendance of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at PAG. All graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who submit an abstract to the Aquaculture Workshop are eligible for consideration. Applicants must also submit a poster abstract and attach a letter from their adviser verifying they are a graduate student and will attend the PAG meeting to present a poster.

Award selections will be made and awardees will be notified soon after the October 8 deadline. Awards will be paid after the meeting as a travel stipend.

Neal A. Jorgenson Genome Travel Award

Award is for up to $1000 for travel expenses and registration provided by each genome coordinator, for a graduate student in the US to travel to and attend PAGXXI. Applicant must be a current, non post-doctorate graduate student residing in the USA. Please complete the application and email to the relevant Genome Coordinator listed below. Applicants must also submit a poster abstract and attach a letter from their professor/adviser, verifying they are a graduate student and will attend the PAG meeting to present a poster.

Scherago International Student Travel Grants Awards

There are four (4) available awards in the amount of $350 each for travel expenses and complimentary registration from Scherago International, for a graduate student to travel to and attend PAGXXI. Applicant must be a non post-doctorate graduate student, and submit proof on school letterhead. Please complete the application and email to the appropriate coordinator, listed below. Applicants must also submit a poster abstract, and a letter from their adviser(on official school letterhead) verifying they are a graduate student and will attend the PAG meeting to present a poster.

Michael D. Gale Travel Grant Award

In honor of one of the founders of the PAG meeting and a leader in the plant genome community, Scherago International is sponsoring the Michael D. Gale Travel Grant Award. This award is for one (1) travel grant in the amount of $1000 and complimentary registration for an international plant genome researcher who has NOT previously attended a PAG meeting. Applicants must also submit a poster abstract, and one letter of recommendation from their department/office in order to be considered for this award.

Note: students should to apply for the Scherago International Student Travel Grant Award and/or the Neal A. Jorgenson Genome Travel Award. 

Jerome P. Miksche Travel Grant Award

Scherago International again is sponsoring the Jerome P. Miksche Travel Grant Award. This award is for one (1) travel grant in the amount of $1,000 and complimentary registration for a international plant genome researcher who has NOT previously attended a PAG meeting. Applicants must also submit a poster abstract, and one letter of recommendation from their department/office in order to be considered for this award.

Earl J. Scherago Travel Grant Award

Scherago International, in honor of the passing in 2000 of the founder of the company, is sponsoring the Earl J. Scherago Travel Grant Award. This award is for one (1) travel grant award of $1000 and complimentary registration for an international plant genome researcher who has NOT previously attended a PAG meeting. Applicants must also submit a poster abstract, and one letter of recommendation from their department/office in order to be considered for this award.
