Bio:
Dr. Farley is an assistant professor at UCSD in the department of Medicine and Molecular biology. Her lab studies enhancers and the rule relating enhancer sequence to tissue specific gene expression during development and how violations in these rules lead to change in gene expression and phenotypes. Prior to starting her own lab, Dr. Farley was a postdoc with Mike Levine at Princeton and UC Berkeley where she developed high-throughput enhancer screens in developing embryos to understand how enhancers encode tissue specific expression required for normal development. Prior to this, Dr. Farley completed her PhD in stem cell biology at Imperial College London with Dr. Meng Li, and has a degree in Biochemistry from Oxford University.
