We are pleased to offer various travel grants which each provide an award amount towards travel expenses, along with complimentary registration to the conference. Descriptions and eligibility requirements for each grant are detailed below.

Application Instructions
Please download/save the relevant application pdf, fill it out and email to the coordinator listed. If the application requires either a letter verifying the applicant's status as a graduate student, or a letter of recommendation from their department or office, please be sure this letter is on official letterhead from the institution or organization and send as an email attachment.
All grant applications require a poster abstract to be submitted. More information on the submission procedure is available on the Poster Abstracts page.
- There is one multi-grant application that covers the Earl J. Scherago, Jerome P. Miksche, and Michael D. Gale Travel Grants - it is not necessary to to fill out three separate forms
- Some grants require the applicant to be traveling to the conference from outside the US, so please check all eligibility requirements carefully.
- Previous winners are ineligible for all grants
Award Winners
Award selections will be made and awardees will be notified shortly after the application deadline.
The Scherago International Student Travel Grants, Michael D. Gale, Jerome P. Miksche, and Earl J. Scherago Travel Grant Awards will be presented to the winners at the conference on Monday morning, before the plenary talks.
The Aquaculture Species Group Student and Postdoctoral Fellowship Bursaries, and the Neal A. Jorgensen Genome Travel Awards will be presented to the winners at the closing banquet on Wednesday.
All grant winners will receive their monetary award amounts after the meeting, via wire transfer.

Scherago International Student Travel Grants Awards
There are six available awards in the amount of $750 each for travel expenses and complimentary registration from Scherago International for a graduate student to travel to and attend PAG. Applicant must be a non postdoctoral graduate student and submit proof on school letterhead.
Please complete the application and email to the coordinator listed below. Applicants must also submit a poster abstract and a letter from their adviser on official school letterhead verifying they are a graduate student and will attend the PAG meeting to present a poster.

Michael D. Gale Travel Grant Award
In honor of one of the founders of the PAG meeting and a leader in the plant genome community, Scherago International is sponsoring the Michael D. Gale Travel Grant Award. This award is for one travel grant in the amount of $2,000 and complimentary registration for an international plant genome researcher who has NOT previously attended a PAG meeting. Applicants must also submit a poster abstract, and one letter of recommendation from their department/office in order to be considered for this award.
Jerome P. Miksche Travel Grant Award
Scherago International is sponsoring the Jerome P. Miksche Travel Grant Award. This award is for one grant in the amount of $2,000 and complimentary registration for a international plant genome researcher who has NOT previously attended a PAG meeting. Applicants must also submit a poster abstract, and one letter of recommendation from their department/office in order to be considered for this award.
Earl J. Scherago Travel Grant Award
Scherago International, in honor of the passing in 2000 of the founder of the company, is sponsoring the Earl J. Scherago Travel Grant Award. This award is for one travel grant award of $2,000 and complimentary registration for an international plant genome researcher who has NOT previously attended a PAG meeting. Applicants must also submit a poster abstract, and one letter of recommendation from their department/office in order to be considered for this award.

Aquaculture Species Group Student and Postdoctoral Fellowship Bursaries
The Aquaculture Genomics Group of the NRSP-8 is pleased to announce the availability of a limited number of Travel Bursaries, in the amount of $500, to support the attendance of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at PAG. All graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who submit an abstract to the Aquaculture Workshop are eligible for consideration.
Applicants must also submit a poster abstract and attach a letter from their adviser verifying they are a graduate student and will attend the PAG meeting to present a poster.

Neal A. Jorgenson Genome Travel Awards
Each award amount is $500 for travel expenses and registration provided by each genome coordinator, for a graduate student in the US to travel to and attend PAG. Applicant must be a current, non postdoctoral graduate student residing in the USA.
